Our Mission is Our Promise
And our
promise is clear: to save lives and end breast cancer forever by
empowering people, ensuring quality care for all and energizing
science to find the cures.
In 2008 alone, 3,000 Connecticut women were diagnosed with
breast cancer, placing the state high on the list for incidence
of breast cancer in the United States.

About the Komen Connecticut Affiliate
-
Empowering People.
Our strength is in our volunteers. Every year in
Connecticut, we have hundreds of volunteers join our network
of survivors and activists working towards our vision of a
world without breast cancer. They assist us in areas such as
service on the Affiliate Board and event committee
leadership to less visible tasks such as data entry and
distributing water to thirsty runners. Each plays a critical
role in the success of our Affiliate.

Ensuring Quality Care for All.
Guided by our Community Profile, Komen Connecticut addresses
the needs of underserved women and works to eliminate the
social, cultural and financial conditions that prevent women
from receiving quality breast health care and treatment.
Through our grants process, Komen Connecticut granted
$725,000 to 28 local breast health organizations in 2008.
