Sisters' Journey Pink Tea Event |
| November 1, 2008 |
Uncasville, CT |
|
The Annual Pink Tea Event presented by
Sisters' Journey celebrates breast cancer
survivors and supports the ongoing challenge of breast cancer.
This year's Pink Tea Event will take place on Saturday November
1st, 2008
at the Mohegan Sun Convention Center from 1:00 PM-5:00 PM.
Sisters' Journey is an organization that
supports women (particularly women of color) diagnosed with
breast cancer. Last year's pink tea event was a success with
over 500 in attendance. This year will mark our 10th year of
celebrating survivors, and offering them the opportunity to
inspire and offer hope to so many others. We are anticipating
and encouraged that this year's event will be an even greater
success then last year.

The Sister Study |
|
The Sister Study, a national research study to learn how the
environment and genes affect the chances of getting breast cancer,
is enrolling women who have never had breast cancer, aged 35-74 but
whose sister had breast cancer.
Because it is important for
women from different ethnic groups and backgrounds to participate in
the Sister Study so the results of the study will benefit everyone,
researchers are encouraging African-American, Latina, Native
American, and Asian women, as well as Caucasian women ages 65-74 or
with a high school degree or less, to enroll at this time.
As of April 1, 2008 the Sister
Study announced that they are no longer enrolling Caucasians 35-64
years old with more than a high school degree due to how well
represented this group is among enrolled study participants.
To enroll, to learn more or to order recruitment materials, please
call 1-877-4SISTER (1-877-474-7837, Spanish and English) or visit
